Letter to Mommy for her 85th birthday…… from Cristina
Mom,
I love you so much. Happy 85th birthday to you. Thanks be to God that HE has given you one more year to serve Him and us. Mommy, I am very grateful for God to have picked me out of all the children to be brought up here. Mommy, my heart rejoiced the day that I graduated from elementary and gave my speech in front of the congregation. Mom, the things that you’ve done and given to us are very precious and memorable. Mom, I am now going into high school and I know that things are getting harder than the things this year. But through God all things are easy and possible to be done, if you trust Him with all your heart and mind and soul.
Mom, this simple card that I made is full of gratitude to you and to God. May the Lord continue to give you strength each day, support your family, and us here, whom you’ve served for almost 22 years.
You’ve been faithful to God and to us. May the Lord bless and guide you always in every step that you would take throughout your life. Mom, you made us happy and bright each day. I love you, Mommy and again…. Happy, Happy Birthday,!
Cristina
Story from the Boy’s Cottage of Valley Cathedral Children’s Home:
One of the lessons we have been teaching at devotion time with the boys is to read their Bible every day for 15-30 minutes or more, asking the Holy Spirit to speak to them. We put a chart on the wall for everyone to put a check next to their name if they had read that day (this includes the house parents too). Most boys are now reading each day and now, even thought I prepare a lesson for each devotion time, I am often not able to speak due to so many boys wanting to share from their personal reading. When I ask who wants to share what they have been reading, many hands enthusiastically shoot up. They want to share what had been meaningful to them or ask questions from their personal devotion time. We have profitable times discussing the meaning of what they are reading. Now, half the time, I am not able to give the lesson that I prepared because of so many boys wanting to share. We are delighted with this problem.
Story from the Girl’s cottage of Valley Cathedral Children’s Home:

Hannah, age 8, needed to be corrected. After the correction, I told her that I loved her and gave her a big hug. She did not want nor did she receive it. I said, “Well, I love you anyway”, and left her to go to sleep. About 5 minutes later there was a knock at our door. Hanna was there with a radiant face wanting to give me a hug. We gave her a hug and told her that we wanted to live with her in heaven forever. Hannah replied, “I want to live with you in heaven forever, too.” This is another one of the works of our Lord Jesus.
Judy was offended by some of the other girls and was very annoyed. We tried to help her, but without success. We sent her to her room. About an hour later, Judy appeared with a little note for us.
Dear Papa and Dear Mama,
I am sorry that I hurt you. Please forgive me.
Love, Judy
Of course, we told her that we did, and gave her a hug.
We told her that we loved her very much.
